Breast augmentation surgery or Cosmetic Breast Surgery is a bonus provided by
medical science to women who need it. It is not only for cosmetic
reasons, it also serves other important purposes, like for cancer
survivors or those who needed to have their breast removed surgically.
However, it is undeniable that “boob job” is commonly undergone by those
who are not that naturally well-endowed. Sometimes, people see breast
augmentation as an absurdity; but there are stories behind those who
undergo it and it is a way to raise women’s self-esteem.
Just like any other procedure, breast augmentation has its benefits and
disadvantages. Then again, the decision is ours and ours alone. First,
we need to assess ourselves if we are qualified to have breast
enhancement. Just one tip; only get a boob job if it is very necessary.
Here are the primary benefits or advantages of breast enhancement.
Firstly, breast cancer recovering patients can benefit from this
procedure because it can somehow relieve the stress brought about by the
disease. The disease process alone is painful; the removal of breast
surgically through mastectomy is also emotionally challenging. Breasts
are a huge part of womanhood, and losing them would mean low
self-confidence. Good thing, breast augmentation is available to make
them feel good about themselves despite the disease.
Secondly, there are varying breast implants available. These are
silicone, gel or saline. The surgeon will help us determine what suits
us best by discussing to us the pros, cons and cost per type, but the
choice is ours to make. Flat-chested women, women with irregular sized
breasts, or those who just want the perfect breasts can have them.
For the primary disadvantages, breast enhancement can be risky to us.
The main disadvantage is having complications like infection and rupture
post-surgery. If the body did not successfully adjust to the implants
or there is something wrong with the implants, that’s when complications
occur and they need to be removed at once. What a waste of money and
time.
Next, breast augmentation makes it possible for the sensations in the
breast especially the nipple area to disappear. It could be temporary,
but in worst cases, it could be permanent.
In my personal view, I believe that women are the emotional sex and
there is nothing wrong with having a boob job as long as it will be able
to resolve inferiority. Anyone could have it, as long as they have
resources for it. But it should not be an addiction or should not be
done for vanity’s sake. So, should you have it? Or you’d rather not?
Think about it.
